I wear many hats and have experienced many different things:

I've been married for 25 years and counting, have 5 children, am a Christian and a homeschooler. I've moved house many times, experienced depression, live with Hashimoto's, have way too much experience dealing with food allergies and intolerances. I've struggled with chaos and disorder in my home, and am passionate about growing our own food, being as self sufficient as possible, and finding ways to live well on a limited budget.

Above all, I'm passionate about encouraging others and sharing what I have learned (and am learning) along the way. As a result, I am also an author and speaker, and have four websites, each with it's own particular focus. Below are descriptions; click on the title or photo to go to the one you want.

We've lived through many adventures, both good and not so good. On my personal website, I share our stories and testimonials. Hear how we went from the verge of bankruptcy to being debt free, how I overcame depression, how we survived a horrific head-on crash, and other adventures.

If you are a homeschooler looking for helpful hints and useful products, this is also the site for you.

Thrifty Kiwi

I've always been interested in self-sufficiency, and over the years we've done many different things. Raising 5 kids on a shoestring budget ignited my passion for growing our own food and being as self-sufficient and thrifty as possible.

On this site, I share my garden photos, lots of hints, tips and ideas on gardening, preserving, budgeting, raising livestock, worm farming, bee keeping and everything else involved in our wee homestead.

Goodbye Chaos,
Hello Peace!

My experiences struggling with chaos and depression, and then years involved with running online support groups for other struggling Christian mothers led me to write a series of books designed to encourage you and lead you by the hand step-by-step from chaos to peace in your home and life.

The first book in the series is available free on this site.

We Quit Sugar & Gluten

This one is a personal blog about my current food and weight loss journey, including recipes, information on food intolerance etc.

I started by quitting sugar and gluten, as neither are good for me. Since then I have had to eliminate more foods that are causing me problems, while exploring ways to cook good food from scratch, free of gluten, sugar, dairy and a few other things.
