Exemption Support
As well as my application review and writing services, and phone consults, sometimes folk need a bit of additional support during the exemption application process. This is most commonly because they have been asked for additional information by the Ministry after submitting their exemption application. Occasionally there may be other matters arising too. I can help.
If you have been asked for more information, and are not sure how to respond, I can help by taking a look at what you already submitted, the questions you have been asked, and then discussing with you what is needed, and what your plans and intentions are, and how you might respond, by helping you understand what is being asked and how your original application may have been insufficient in these aspects.
If I reviewed your application already, and you are still asked for more information, then helping you with that is part of the service you already paid for, unless it turns into something much *bigger*. Typically, though, any further info you are asked for will be fairly minor and straight forward as we will have already discussed any areas of your application lacking sufficient information as part of the review process.
If I did not review your application, then my charge for providing assistance is $60 (for one child, plus $20 per additional child's application at the same time), as I will essentially now be reviewing your application plus providing guidance and support as needed. Note: this fee may be waived in cases of genuine financial difficulty or other mitigating circumstances, as I do not want families to not be able to access this support if needed.
Straightening out minor matters: Sometimes there are other glitches in the application process which need a little support to get straightened out. This might include things like: technical difficulties in communicating with the Ministry, questions around supporting documents, getting a start date adjusted, not having received the exemption certificates, issues around declarations or school trails etc. There is no set charge for these - they are part of what I do as Government Liaison. However, donations are always welcome.
Other times when support is needed: I have also been involved in providing support in many different situations in the past, advocating for families as needed. These have included foster situations, appeals when an application is declined, families who have felt they have been treated unreasonably by the Ministry or other government departments, or families whose unusual situations bring additional complexity to the case. Whatever your situation, if you need support, Contact Me to discuss how I can help. My standard hourly rate is $40/hour, but there is some flexibility depending on circumstances. In certain circumstances, some funding may also be available.
