Unschooling applications
I am unable to write applications for unschoolers and families using no set curriculum, as by the time you have provided me with all the information about what you'll be doing in each subject area, you'll have practically written it yourself anyway! I recommend that you to write your own application using my guide, and then send it to me to review if you would like some feedback and support. In some instances I'm able to provide further assistance in developing the application, but that is decided case-by-case. Note that my 2023 Success with Exemptions guide pack now contains specific tips and examples for unschoolers.

Unschooling vs Deschooling
Unschooling is an approach to home education which is generally based around the idea of following the child's lead, and not directing their programme of learning. Unschoolers generally don't use any set curriculum, though some may incorporate specific resources here and there. It's also known as "free-range education", "child-directed learning" and similar.
Deschooling is different - it is a specific, limited period of time in which the parent plans to take a relaxed approach and not put academic demands on their child, to enable them to adjust to learning at home and let go of the pressures, expectations and model of learning found in the school environment. A person who plans to deschool for a time may still intend to use a curriculum based application going forward, and thus their exemption application may be based upon that curriculum approach.
